Glad you're back in this thread. I'm going to have a bunch of questions for you about the AT. After reading and looking at all your pictures, I've started planning for a 2014 thru hike. I'm trying to round up a partner to hike Georgia with me at least.
I'd do 2013 but I want my son old enough that he's not the wrecking ball that he is now (2 1/2).
Is AWOL the best guide? Ever used Accuterra app for the iPhone?

I used AWOL's guide for the entire trail. If worried about weight, you can mail yourself portions of the book as you go or carry the whole thing at once and tear out pages as you go.
