The main thing is get cloths your comfortable in and test them out before a three day trek. Don't want to be stuck out there with more of the wrong stuff than you need or not enough of the right stuff.
I've done a twenty mile hike in blue jeans and cowboy boots just fine. But that is what I wear daily so it was comfortable for me.
