He was named the #1 prospect in LA by BBI. Some say Ponamsky is being biased, but we're all glad he wants to be a tiger.

In his sophomore highlights he shows elite speed (KR and RB) and has great ball skills (WR and CB). More of the same in his junior highlights.

The real question here isn't whether you think he's the best prospect in LA, but where the hell is he going to line up? He has the measurables to play CB, WR, or even RB with some time in the weight room. What say the RB?

A mix of Brooks and Mathieu ..hes somehwere in the middle.

Great speed and hips for corner, little undersized but good enough. Playmaker on D, while a return specialist on O.

I dont think he will be as exciting as Tyrann but who is. More of a Ron Brooks with better return game.

While watching the film, every time I started to think this he made a catch that made me think he's too good to keep on D. Kid has hands. Then again, maybe that just makes him a perfect CB prospect.

If you notice, most small schools and actually all high schools will put the ball in the hands of the best ATH. In the high school game your best player usually will be on the offensive side of the ball. Depending on how athletic the player is, he will make the switch to D especially in the SEC.

Most great coaches will tell you, for a corner its all about the hips. That is what seperates a wide out and a corner. In this day in age you need elite corners to defend the modern day spread. In college everybody is fast. But if you have speed AND hips you are on D. Look at Tharold Simon, you would think from size and leaping ability alone he would be a stud reciever, but his hips have him where he should be.

No doubt, that's why he's playing QB. I'm just saying he makes some really good catches on film, you don't see that in every "was the best ATH on the team so got the ball every play" prospect.

I know exactly what you mean. He would be amazing at offense. But thats what seperates this program from the rest of the country. We put our absolute best ATH on D.

I agree CB all the way and Brazil wants to play CB. I have him #1 in the state at the moment because of the simple fact that his skillset is not one than can be mistaken or missed in evaluation. No matter what competition, what position or how bad he plays in a particular game, his speed, athleticism and drive aren't going anywhere. Once coached up Brazil could be a star. He has all the talent to be one. As I see more of Tim Williams, Smith , Diarse and Jefferson this year I'll reevaluate and really any of them could end up #1. Some have Beckwith #1 and I think he'd be fortunate to break the top 5 but not because he isn't talented. Those 5 are just that talented. Tredavious White is one to that could sneak up the rankings big this year if he performs well.

I like an honest man. I like the way he has handled himself. He has leadership potential written all over him. He is our homegrown DAT. Our coaches are smart enough to let him be the best cb of the year over time.

Recovery speed?

See, I have had Beckwith number 1 in state for a while. If he played D only, he would get so much more love from this board. He will shock people because of how good he is.

My personal top 10 instate:

Beckwith
Williams
Brazil
Boutte (People do not understand how good he is)
Claiborne (Wish he would get a offer)
Smith
Lawson
Cuterer
Jefferson (I really hope he comes to LSU)
Diarse

The recruiting services tend to show the love to the guys with Elite speed and size. Brazil has elite speed.

I think this kid will be a TM7 type corner

kid has a great knack for the ball the TM7 does, just always seems to bounce his way. really excited he is coming to LSU

I feel he gets a look at WR and CB, seems like a fair assumption.

I agree with you about Beckwith to a point and think he could easily end up #1 at the end of the year in most people's minds. Problem is that none of his measurables are very good. Saw today that he is only about 6'1 1/2 and less than 230 with 4.8 speed. The weight isn't a problem to me but the height and speed are imo for different reasons. The height doesn't fit DE, which imo is his best position, and the speed doesn't fit LB which is his preferred position. Still he is good enough to be a very good DE imo.

Derail: My thoughts are Darian Claiborne outran him to win the playoff game for Port Allen ( the play should be burried in his youtube highlight); Darian needs an offer already, or we're going to lose him.

But yeah, Brazil is good - glad to have him!
