Why so many post season tournaments?

I just noticed McNeese was flying to Toledo to play in the College Insider Invitational.

CIT, the home team pays 30k to host but they keep the entire gate and concession money. We're hosting against Rice, so if 3,000 people show up and some of the buy concessions we'll make money.

If they could have set up ULL and McNeese, that may have been worth attending. Maybe we'll miraculously meet yall.

Is ULL gonna get 3,000?
I know Tech turned it down because there was no way we were gonna get 3,000 people.

I think that's it. The CIT was made for midmajors whereas the CBI seems to take the scraps from major conferences with midmajors in as well.

We average more than 3,000 for regular games, so maybe a tournament game will get more people out there. Baseball doesn't have a game that night so we don't have that working against us.

We hosted for the NIT last year, had a good crowd, but there were too many rules about where we could be and where we couldn't be, then BC whipped our arse.

That was the year McNeese hit four three pointers in the final minute vs UTSA to almost pull off an unbelievable comeback. Almost a miracle minute McNeese edition. The last three went in and out at the buzzer as well. 
McNeese was a fun team to watch last year.
