I remember that series. I only watched one though...about the gunner in the belly of a B-17 getting trapped with damaged landing gear. He was an aspiring cartoonist. He winds up crawling into his imagination while in shock and draws cartoon wheels that the plane lands on. 
I think Kevin Costner was in it.

that was amazing stories??
I was just talking to a belly gunner of a B27 at the Smithsonian and brought that movie up.
Forgot it was Spielberg's TV show, not a movie.

That's the ONE I remember! The only one!
I think that was the whole series...they just ran that episode over and over again because I swear I watched it every Sunday night...and cartoon landing gear is all I can recall.
