After this bounty-thuggish plan. Absolutely embarrassing. This is only a game and to fashion a scheme which would include injurying and ending the careers of heros of the game like Favre and others is absolutely disgusting and embarrassing. Flame away.

first of all its not confirmed this is what happened yet. second of all if it is confirmed how did it change their play if they were doing dirty hits then the refs must have been dropping the ball because outside of maybe roman harpers idiotic hit in the endzone i dont recall any extreme fouls or fines given. third of all paying a defensive player to try to hit someone as hard as they can isnt that kind of what their salary is there job is to lay mother frickers out when big hits occur they are praised all over espn now all of a sudden our big hits are considered dirty i dont think so hombre cant have it both ways

Read this and take your tampon out

"In addressing the damning allegations of placing bounties on opposing players, I would like to believe the Saints instituted policies that rewarded defenders for hard but clean shots that separated ball carriers from the ball. These "knockout" shots, as we called them, were not inflicted with the intent to injure, but rather to establish a physical tone that created hesitation and fear in the minds of offensive players venturing across the middle of the field."

This is not what the Saints were doing. From the reports I have read they rewarded players extra for having their opponent carted off the field, the injury and not the hit was the goal.

Relax guys, I'm saints fan just like you are just can't understand how so of many make excuses for this behavior. However had this come out about a huge rival like atl, you would be singing a different tune. Or if atl would have INTENTIONALLY INJURED brees while participating in the same scheme. This is about purposefully injurying players, not playing tough defense.

They have a video on NFL.com asking Patrick Henry, who played 11 years in the NFL at DE about this. He said of course they had bounty programs but he was never apart of a team that specifically rewarded the injury.

I'm neutral on the Saints, but it amazes me the you guys can't just come out and say that paying players specifically for having a guy carted off the field is wrong.

Whether or not someone was hurt or if every team or if only the Saints did it, its still wrong to pay players specifically to cause long term serious injuries.

1. Drew Brees will not be anyone's enemy. He wasnt part of this.
2. Reggie is most likely already disliked by other players and in no way was a god in NOLA. A lot of people wanted Reggie out long before he was traded.
3. No one is supporting hurting other players to end their career, but it's football and that is what the sport is all about. I am just happy they are trying to find an extra edge.

4. You used incorrect letters for the word Sucks. Are you in high school?

I couldn't have said it better myself.

So, if someone has the intent to speed but never does is he guilty of speeding?

I may feel bad if anyone actually missed any time from this but it didn't happen.

I would be curious who got paid and for what injuries they caused. I can't recall any "cartoffs" during this time period. The only thing that looked bad to me was the shot on Steve Smith this year after his TD.

I can think of no times when a football player deserved to be called a hero during a game.
