Skipped school yesterday and headed to Toledo with my dad at about 5:00 A.M. Probably caught around 60-70 bass, finally caught our limit at 3 in the afternoon. It was a fun trip, though, and if anyone is going soon the bass are SHALLOW! Caught almost all of them in 1-2 feet of water, and about 98% of them on chartreuse and white humdingers.

Biggest was only about 3 maybe....we had three on that were bigger than anything we put in the livewell and they all came off. Sucks when you look at em and see how big they are then they come off!

I wish I lived closer to Toledo. I'd like to have a camp there one day.

frick it I'm going tomorrow come hell or high wind. Been fishing Vernon Lake lateley. Missed several should have caught my limit, which is 8. You can catch 8 under 14 inches or 4 under and 4 over 17 inches. Missed a good one late, couldn't turn it and was just pulling line and finally spit it out. Saw a first though. Noticed up in a shallow cove a swirl next to the bank. Every now and then shad would scatter from next to it. Figured it was a bass on his/her nest. Chunked all around it, no luck. Finally eased up to it and it was a bass protecting a nest on top of a old stump. I know, cbsb.

I'd like to go in on one with some others so I am not mowing the grass every single time I go.
