If you're patient, you could buy the gun in sections of parts at a time; that way, you're basically putting the gun on layaway while you build it. A lot of people do this.

Plus, you wouldn't be out of a lot of money in the interim, thus you won't have to compromise on a cheap production build.

If you've got the time and interest you can do the build for the same money and have a gun with a dust cover and forward assist.

With that said, I bought the M&P Sport last year and have loved it. Rained havoc on the hogs with it, killed a few yotes and beavers and a deer that didn't have enough sense to get up and run off.

Its been between my front seat and console since last August, hasn't been cleaned and hasn't failed. I dusted two more sows yesterday.
