What's the best baitcast reel I can get for bass fishing for around $100?

Pro Qualifier from Bass Pro will be on sale for 79.00 during the fishing classic. Overall a really good value.

Also the Bass Pro Extreme Reel which will be on sale for 59.00 is another good value.

Even less with a reel trade in.

I have some that are over 10years old and still cast very well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Any thoughts on the Shimano Cardiff?

You might be able to find an Abu Garcia Revo S on eBay (new) for $100. If not, then Abu Orra SX.

Also I think the ambassadeur is around $100 these days.

I like Shimano, but Garcia makes a better reel at that price point IMO

I'm not a round reel fan, but Ambassadeurs are all my dad uses. Solid reels no doubt.

I may try and find a used 6 or 7 series and just for a little sport, match with a XH rod and see what happens with a AJ.

these are really good reals FWIW, people see the low price tag and assume they are shite. I use them all the time for specks and reds

No doubt. You can put one of those on an all star classic and have a pretty good bass combo for relatively cheap.

Not to hijack, but does anyone collect old reels? I have a Shakespeare that's probably 50+ years old, what should I do with it? Build a plexiglass box or get rid of it? Oh, it works pretty well too.

Find a similarly old rod and put it on the wall IMO

Actually have one of those antique ultra lights from the same person. Not much on bric a brac, but hate to just get rid of it.
Thanks guys, if it had the handles on the correct side I'd use it.
