A friend of mine is married to the daughter whose parents owned the Bright Star back in the 70’s. I asked him what he knows about the place currently there. Here is what he told me.

Now it's called Riccobano's Panola Street Cafe. We are planning to have breakfast there next weekend when we go in for Mardi Gras. It has a great breakfast menu.

Bright Star use to have the greatest oyster po-boys
ever! When I was in Med. school we would go there on Friday afternoons. What a great memory this post has given me. Thanks. Its been awhile.
