If it's an inch or longer I count it as a point, same as how B&C considers it. I hate it when someone tells me their deer was 18 inches wide and when I see it it's 15 because they measured the outside spread.

This deer may have more than 8 points but they measured him using only his main frame to show how big he actually is.

I disagree with your "Jim" story. If someone tells me they killed a 170 inch 9 point, I think of this deer. If they tell me a 170 inch 17 point it makes more sense. Like someone else said, score means more to me than number of points.
