I would have said maybe so, but the way he left this program, and him basically disappearing for ten years except for the final four in 06, IMO No.

Daddy Dale was pretty awesome, and his hard work with recruiting and his charisma put lots of people in the PMAC. His last few years were sad because he overstated his self-worth and he thought that he had LSU b-ball on cruise control, which he didn't.
He deserves something to be named after him, but definitely not the PMAC

Hell NO! Dale Brown, who never apologized for his actions, PUT LSU ON ITS FIRST NCAA SANCTION!!
He was at LSU or 25 years, and he did go to two final 4's......imo he was a trouble maker and rabble rouser. He stayed way too long and when he was forced out, he made sure to tear down the program in his wake.
HELL NO!!

Not until he gives back those years we lost on probation ! It KILLED the program.

How is this a reason to take Maravich's name off the building?
I don't think that Maravich's name should come off, and I think you missed that I was replying to the post above mine where Nativebullet wrote "2 - Final 4's in 25 years. Hell NO!"

Skip deserves the field at the Box to be named after him before something like this were to go down

absolutely YES... and name the baseball field(or stadium) after SKIP!
This should be done for two great LSU coaches.
Skip is a no brainer!
Dale didn't have the NC, but he did have multiple SEC championships, two final fours, and played againts legendary coaches along the way.

I say yes !! What would LSU basketball be without dale brown ?

I, like so many here, like Dale, but let's be realistic---while he brought us from a team/program standpoint to highs only seen by Kentucky in the SEC, he left the program where it was when he first became head coach: in the gutter. He does not deserve the court named after him---UNLESS ENOUGH DONORS raise the money to buy the court to be named after him. Statue sounds good to me---or plaque--kinda like cooperstown---which can talk about start from the ground up; to the penthouse and then back to the bottom

Well i think it will be happening in the near future. Was at the basketball game vs. Kentucky and overheard former basketball players discussing they were getting together with Joe Aleeva about planning it.

Perhaps "Press Maravich Court" could work, we wouldn't have gotten Pete if we didn't hire Press.

Cheesy.. Ok State has something similiar. Eddie Sutton court at Mo Iba arena (sp?) always thought that was dumb
