Have a contractor in town who has a new found obsession with the stuff. Who has the best in BR?
(And, as a bonus question, who has the best in NO?)
I'll probably make some for him...I've enjoyed it at a few restaurants, but it's not like it's hard to make it at home and get a great result.

I would like to thank you on behalf of my husband for this thread. Bread Pudding is his favorite. Pioneer woman dot com has an easy recipe that can be done quickly.

An under the radar pick, the bread pudding at Monjuni's is great. Not a big fan of their menu as a whole....but that bread pudding is legit

I haven't tried a ton of bread pudding, but I had some at Parker House in Ridgeland the other day and it was unbelievable. It one the bread pudding showdown in Jackson if that counts for anything . Seriously though, it was great...

My favorite in N.O. is at Lil' Dizzys on Esplanade.
I also like the white chocolate version at Cafe des Amis in Breaux Bridge.

Well the responses to this one are scattered across the board.
I guess maybe b/c there are so many different variations of bread pudding and everyone may prefer theirs differently.
I prefer my bread pudding to be firm so you have to sort of cut it. I don't like the mushy or soupy variety. I also prefer mine pretty sweet as opposed to just mildly sweet which many places serve. Not a big fan of the overly alcoholic rum or whiskey sauces. I'd rather a nice sweet praline or citrus glaze.
You maybe able to narrow down the recommendations if you specify which kind of bread pudding would be preferred.
I see they covered a lot of the fine dining places so I'll give you a couple that I like from 2 more casual places. The Chimes(praline topping) and Capital City Grill(citrus glaze).
Good luck.

Ralph's Market on Jones Creek. They sell it by the pound. Good stuff.

Little Village has one of the best bread puddings that I have ever had. I believe it is the same chef from Country Club of La, like some said before.
