I own a camp and wouldn't have it any other way. I would reccomend it to anyone. As others have said it's not all a "dream" deal.
You have to keep up with it, mowing grass, upkeep, and then Feb-April or there abouts you have to have some presence to keep it from getting ripped off.
In my opinion the BIGGEST consideration in getting a camp once you are sure you have financing covered is making sure you are A) in an area with low vandalism rates and B) make sure you have neighbors that live next to it that are down there all the time.
Once you can keep the camp locked down it's all easier. One of the worst feelings is to pull up to the camp to go hunting/fishing and find the booze gone, and the lower unit on someone else's shrimp boat. I've had that happen twice.
