My buddy and I has this conversation yesterday. After the first couple it gets pretty tricky as there aren't many coaches out there who have won National Championships, sustained success, or have coached more than one or two years.

What's your top 10 college football head coaches list look like?

1. Nick Saban, Alabama
2. Urban Meyer, tOSU
3. Bob Stoops, Oklahoma
4. Les Miles, LSU
5. Chip Kelly, Oregon
6. Brett Bielema, Wisconsin
7. Chris Peterson, Boise State
8. Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State
9. Gary Patterson, TCU
10. Lane Kiffin, USCw

ETA: Bielema, Peterson, Patterson

I wouldn't put Petrino behind Kelly, Gundy, Kiffin (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA), Spurrier, or Hoke.

I was expecting this to be a Miles bash fest but I I forgot that this wasn't on the rant.

I'm assuming this is a current list, not overall (ie: why SOS is so low). So if that's the case, Urban and Les have to be lower....Kelly and Petersen should be higher. And Kiffin shouldn't be on there period.

Yes, current list.

I think you could see guys like Sark, Muschamp, Petrino, Chizik, Richt, Hoke, etc move up there with some more success.

I disagree about Stoops, obviously. Peterson has done way more than he should have with the talent that he has at BSU. That's not a knock on Miles who has had a great tenure at LSU thus far.

1- Saban
2- Urban Meyer
3- Les Miles
4- Chip Kelly
5- Peterson/ Patterson (could seriously go either way)
6-Gundy
7- Bob Stoops
8- Snyder
9- Petrino (a much as I hate to even put him in here
10- Bielema

Some of them are so close it's not even debatable, just a matter of choice.

Kiffin should never have even come up in this thread. Terrible in Oakland, terrible at Tenn, this is his first year that could really matter. WE'll see how he does.

Kiffin is a huge douche, but the guy is a winner. Give him time at USC and you'll see. Urban Meyer isn't proven yet, IMO, because his success was tied to Tebow at UF. If he has success at Ohio State than he moves up.
