Best Offensive Strategy for 2012?

Assuming Mett is ready to roll, what is the best offensive strategy for 2012?
My take: we're obviously loaded at RB. We can pound all day long. However if Mett can stretch the defense just a bit with 10-15 yard passes and be able to do it on 1st down, that will certainly open up things to get some big runs. Then the running will open up the play action for maybe a long gainer.
It's a simpleton comment, but when you really think about it, we have speed, a huge line, and we don't need Mett to throw for 300 every game, but we do need for him to be accurate on timing routes on 1st and 2nd down. And we need to put a few option plays in to RS and SW. I don't think they've totally forgotten how to throw the ball.
Please don't get all Germans about JJ and JL in followups, we have heard everything a billion times over about that. That's done. Just talking 2012 here, and how you all think with our personnel, what the general direction may be on offense....like is there anyway we install a true 2 RB set when lining up behind center, and if so, how would it work best.

I think we'll see better leadership, smarter QB play, and more passing from Mett. I think Mett is the kind of guy that will audible from a run to a deep pass or PA if he sees safeties creeping up too much.

I'd like to put points on the board THEN pound the rock all day...

play action pass will be big next year. LSU will be able to run the ball, we know that. using the run to setup the pass will be big.

Do what we did last yr (sans option, with Mett not being that type of QB), but execute it better. There's not much to change IMO.
If anything is added, I'd like to see the TEs and RBs get more passes send their way. Other than that, just need to see more consistent execution from the QB position and we should be fine.

quote:Brendoni, how many times did LSU call play-action ? Les never calls play action, he never throws to his tight-end or quick slant to #10(both would have worked 1/9/12),and Les never calls a screen. All of the prior would have helped JJ(call plays that put your QB in the best position to succeed).
