Hockey/NHL Blogs and Websites

Recent transplant to the northeast (NYC). I don't plan on changing any of my previous sport allegiances but I would like a local team to follow while I am here so I figured I would give the NHL a shot. Unfortunately my knowledge of the sport completely revolves around the old NES Hockey and making little Wayne's head bleed on SEGA.
If anyone has any good blogs or websites similar to Smart Football that discuss strategy of the game could you share them.
Additionally, if there are any writers/websites/etc. that do a great job of covering the sport, please share those as well.

Behindthenet.ca has all sorts of advanced metrics along the lines of Smart Football or Football Outsiders. They have an American blog at behindthenet.com as well. Both are good.
Yahoo's blog, Puck Daddy, is pretty good as well. Slugs already covered the paper of record and the biggest message board.
Some of the team specific sites are really good as well.

I can't believe I'm going to suggest this, but if you're moving to NYC, you need to adopt the Rangers. They have a pretty good blog on SB Nation, Blueshirt Banter
LINK /
The Isles play in Long Island and the Devils are a terrible team to adopt right now (they stink, play a boring brand of hockey, are about to get worse as the golden age ends, and they play in Jersey). It's actually a good time to jump on the Rangers bandwagon, too. I can't believe I'm suggesting someone root for the Rangers, but there it is.
Cool unis, good young team, play in MSG, play attacking hockey, have a real chance to win the Cup, built in rivalries... jump on now, if you're a NYC resident.

I mean, I hate the Rangers, but if you're moving to NYC, you gotta adopt the home team. And there's lot to objectively support the decision, particularly over the other local options.
Or you could root for the Flyers and have everyone hate you. Also an option.
