i guess you have to define what is meant by "LSU's Joe Paterno"...
1. if you mean the patriarch of the football program: Charlie Mac. Just oozed class for decades both on and off the field.
2. if you mean a guy who built a program from the ground up and heavily influenced the entire athletic program over decades: Skip Bertman.
3. if you mean a guy who stayed too long and had a hand in embarrassing the University on occasion: Joe Dean.
