Where is the best place thats fairly close to baton rouge where I can find some nutria that i can shoot? I'm tired of these things and I heard you can get 5 bucks per pelt? I just wanna get rid of them.

To get the money I think you have to apply for a permit or tags or something, I forget how much it costs.
And no matter how many you shoot I don't think you're gonna get rid of em

I think you need a trappers liscense. And there are some requirements for keeping the tails frozen or something not really sure.
They are fun to shoot. When I worked at a golf course we killed a couple hundred every year.

I always saw the most when the river comes up behind the levee, but discharging a firearm back there will get you in some shite. I can't think of where else. We've ran some down with the outboard frogging a few times

yeah I don't want to do that behind the levee. I was thinking some WMA's? but i want to wait till after deer season.

You should be able to find some on the WMA's. Not sure how to go about finding them exactly though, they're kind of just everywhere at night

so going at night would be better than during the day?

That's my theory. Hopefully somebody who's done this stuff before will chime in

yea, its better at night. You can hit them with the spot light and its on.

Get a decent scope on a 22 and a good spotlight and have fun.

I thought they were everywhere in the ditches down there. Just ride down the road and pop a few from the window

I always see them in small canals and sloughs

Go to a golf course south of BR and you will collect a bunch of tails

They have them at my plant.
We have an "exterminator" come in every now and then but they just keep coming back.

Saw literally 20 plus on a single boat ride in manchac. Go at night for sure.
