Don't get me wrong... I'd love to land Mario Edwards & Cordarrelle Patterson. But no one on the radio or the boards is really talking up Jeremy Liggins. I mean the kid is 6'4 270 with a cannon for an arm. By the time Coach Moffitt gets done with him he'll prolly be around 255 and gain a step. Getting Gunner woulda been nice but im excited about Liggins if we get him. What say you RB?

I like Liggins. At least he doesn't have the MLB thing hanging over his head like Winston and Alford. He also has a high degree of potential to contribute at another position, should he not work out as a QB, TE/H-Back, or even on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm with you guys. I think he's a take as an athlete if we miss on Edwards and/or Patterson. Does anybody know if he played any other positions while in high school?

How's his speed? I just cant imagine a guy this size playing QB in HS being able to flip to defense. At 270 he'd be a d-lineman.

LINK Sure its been discussed.

Some say meh, some say project, some say stud. Everyone has an opinion. Me? I think he has the potential to be something special - just don't know what!

He's a better athlete than JJ IMO. He will either lose 20 pounds and play QB or gain 20 pounds and play DT. Either way I expect Moffitt will do right by him.

doesn't happen every day but if he's got quicks and the right attitude he could morph. frankly, I like his upside right where he is. we were fairly successful a couple of years back with a big, strong armed bear at qb. like a previous poster said before, given time to mature and with Moffit triming the baby fat he could easily get to 6'5"-255. what's not to like? IMHO, he should be a priority....not a take.

That's amazing at that size. I just hope we teach him how to throw. The good thing is that he will have to learn and compete like Rohan instead of just being given the job like J. Russell. (I know Russell had Flynn behind him, but Flynn got "camp arm" every year)

It's hard to imagine that a kid will either be a QB or DT.

If anything it seems like they could use him in situations like Oklahoma uses their mammoth qb.

How great would it be to be at the goal line in an I-formation and have this kid under center, copeland at rb and hilliard at tb. Dont know about yall but I sure as hell dont want to try to stop that.

He's fast enough to play DE or LBer. The great thing about him as a pass rushing DE or LBer is he's been a QB, so he knows how a QB thinks in avoiding the rush.

My thoughts on Liggins are it would be nice to get a QB from this class, but with Mett, Randall and Stephen Rivers LSU will be fine. They can focus on a top tier QB for 2013 and give him more hope of playing time. I think Liggins will probably stay in the state of Miss.

JMO...
