Am I the only one who has absolutely zero interest in LSU recruiting Weinston, Liggins, or any other dual threat qb? We had the top one in the nation and moved him to WR which hasn't exactly panned out. They tried to force JJ in to a role he wasn't cut out for. Please...just get a guy who throws the football from the pocket.

If you don't want Winston then you don't know what you are talking about.

Id rather have a pro style quarterback with the type of running backs that are currently on our roster, (mettenberger)

I understand what you are saying. After Jefferson every LSU fan should be scared about a dual threat but you can't turn down talents like Winston and Liggins.

Admittedly I don't keep up with recruting. I just don't want a dual threat qb on this roster. It just confuses the staff. They start to think we are an option team. We are not.

I think the whole "RS was one of the top QBs in the nation" talk needs to die. The majority of people who follow recruiting and watched film on him pretty much knew he was not going to play QB here.

So, why don't you just say "Don't recruit shitty QB's who aren't cut out to play QB in the SEC.", rather than make this about dual threat QB's? If you had the right one, he would be deadly.

We might have ran the option 10 times a game with Jefferson. That's a far cry from an option team.
Pro style QBs aren't always good and dual threats aren't always bad.

The only reason I'm hesitant in recruiting Winston is the possibility of him going to play baseball. He appears to be a better Qb prospect than jj and a better leader

People forget that Jordan Jefferson was a pro-style QB coming out of high school. So he never was great at being a dual-threat QB despite the little bit of speed he has.

I think a LEGIT dual-threat QB is talent you can't pass up, but we can't get a pro-style QB with some speed and call him a dual-threat QB.

If we keep going we will have a bingo winner.

There is no "appears" here in this situation. He is the better prospect.

shep wasn't really a candidate for college QB in a non-option offense

I have absolutely no issue with recruiting dual threat QBs, as long as they are truly dual threats (i.e. can actually pass). I'm more concerned with the staff recuiting pro-style QBs and then wasting them on the bench.

Let's stop making this a pro style/ dual threat thing. Let's get the best QB available and let the staff actually develop the kid and go from their. Let's not dwell on the past.

A qb is gonna sit on the bench 84. Someone is going to be butt hurt cus their guy isnt playing. Oh and Jordan isnt a dual threat, go back and look as his sr stats at dhan. Kiel ran the ball more in highschool than jordan did.
