i would guess that each year the staff sits down & decides what they need in each position
then they look @ what we have instate & then decide what positions we have to go out of state for
then contacts are attempted with the best out there, but some 5 stars are not interested in LSU, no matter what. the key is getting a player to attend(at their expense) one of our camps.
but at the same time a kid at camp maybe a 3 star and we see the potential-mathieu, hurst, williford & more on.
i remember the ol prospect that we got from florida that was a parade all american that did not play a down for us, also this year gore & the lb from houston , that did not cut it
stars are set by others, not our coaching staff, their record over the past 5 years has been great, we do not need to change what we have been doing, it has worked & worked well!

I understand everything you all are saying, but if everyone is satisfied possibly doing the same old and not getting anyone in the Rivals 100 and no 5 stars because we want to stay in state, fine.

Bama, UF and Auburn seem to get those kids at their camps. I mean, why couldn't we develop a relationship with an Arik Armstead and possibly get two for one. or DGB? He's in SEC territory now....
