It's also a double edged sword deal, because we've lost commits from out of the region because of the distance. Gunnier Kiel, Lavelle Hawkins, Cassius Marsh I believe, etc...

I will just say there is a reason why all the big programs are heading to our backyard to recruit and not focusing primarily in their own backyard.

Think about it. Florida, LSU, Bama, Aub winning 7 NC in the past decade. Probably 75-80% of their rosters are full of in-state recruits. Why focus on the areas where there is less talent, therefore more competition for said talent, when you can recruit homegrown talent early on. Unless the player is extraordinary, I say stay between Texas and Florida and south of Tennessee. Football is played year round becasue there is no winter and it produces better talent. The rest of the nation is just catching on and trying to raid our pantry.
