Most coaches won't just throw an inexperience QB to the wolves just because. He went with experience just like most coaches would. Just like Saban did when he opted to play Randall over Flynn and Russell. It wasn't because they were worse with their mechanics or had less skill. It was because they had less experience which is something you can't manufacture. Mett was given the time to learn the playbook and ease into the starting position. Their shot at winning a BCSNC is just as good in 2012-2013 year as it was last year. If QB play takes a step forward, it will be even better.
