Here is what needs to happen, just my $.02

Les needs to decide to either go with Stud at OC, which was working well when JL was starting and we had a short field and we could run the ball, or go out and hire an OC and leave Kragthorpe at the Quarterback coach position and put Stud back at oline. Am guessing Les chooses the former.
We must, barring unforseen circumstances, win the Sec west and the sec and get back to the NC next year, if we truly are thought of as the top team in the SEC, which I think most people agree on so far. Not saying we have to win it, but we have to be competitive. We were not competitive and that is the biggest issue I have with the NC game against alabama. We were not competitive cause we were not prepared.
How, I have no clue. We have the same players, same coaches. I think they figured we won the first time and stuck with that and had no backup plan. When the D couldn't get a turnover or had a special teams play for a TD and then the O couldn't run the ball, we had to resort to passing and it was 2009 and 2010 all over again. I will support the Tigers no matter what, but if Les lays another egg, he will be another notch down in my book. I know, Les dgaf. I just don't understand with everything at stake, how we could play this poorly and get totally dominated. I don't think that Alabama was that much better, but much better prepared, thanks to Nick Saban.
Next year will be interesting to say the least. Just hope we can get back to the NC. If not, then I think we just have to accept Les and hope for the best.

If we hire a new OC who should we fire to make room on the staff?
Gonzo
Ensminger
Stud
Wilson(not serious)
Not enough room to add another coach. Just so you know.

Jesus Christ... The sky is not falling! I get where the disgust comes from and agree to a point, but we will be fine. Although we were ranked in the top 10 this year I don't think anyone had a thought in their head that we would have even made it to the NCG. Very young team that was COACHED very well to achieve what they did.
However I do agree with you on the OC decision needing to be made.

That is what I have been thinking since Monday night, but wasn't sure. This is why I am thinking we stick with Stud.

I agree. My post is more on my perception of Les, not LSU, although I understand they are one in the same. He had been gold in bowl games, except against Penn State. Didn't see this coming at all and to be unprepared is unacceptable.
I said 10-2 before the season. I say 10-2, 11-1 next year. Depending on how good Arkansas is, I think we could win the SEC west and thus win the SEC again. If we do that, we should be in Miami. Ole Miss and Moo St will be down. Bama will be good, but we should beat them at TS. Auburn will be down, but that will be a tough game. Wildcard is A&M with the new coach.

I know and still believe that Less is doing an amazing job with the players that he has. Obviously recruiting quality players (QB) falls on his shoulders, but JJ and JL both showed several signs of promise over the past couple years. Still waiting on that to materialize. Unfortunate that it had to end this way on such a big stage for these young men.

Les has to decide his offensive philosophy and then hire someone to run it, and butt out.
Right now, Les has no idea what type of offense he wants the team to run. He wants us to be a hard-nosed Big 10 style running team, that runs the spread, has the ability to run the option, has a good screen pass game, and has a quarterback who can escape the rush. And, then punt, play field position and hope your defense and/or special teams can score for you.
He has got to decide what he wants:
1. Pro-style tough nosed, run first team.
2. Pass happy team.
3. Spread team.
4. Option Spread.
This mix of philosophies is a failure. He has no idea what he wants to do and therefore, neither do our assistant coaches or players.

Gunner will heal you.
when you have a great pro style QB, you can run a pro-style offense.
all in good time. it was a very good year. the team was compared to best ever. just didnt have a high end QB.
JL, good, but not great.
JJ, not a good QB. decent runner. not a passer. never was, never will be.
we ALL knew that going in. We were hoping to see FORD on the outside. That did not happen. end of season.

Someone needs to protect the QB, period.
Who does Bama credit? Our OLine or their own Front 7?
We got curb-stomped up front all night.

quote:That's the one thing I think Nick Saban really excels at (besides monster defenses) is preparation. Alabama was totally prepared. LSU looked totally unprepared, surprised, and maybe not all that motivated to play LSU ball. We all saw the results. Still, LSU's defense prevented TDs until late in the game and blocked on field goal - as bad as we looked, in theory we were still in the game at the 15-0 score point, with enough time on the clock to strike quickly and get back into the fray. But that's just it - with JJ at the helm, there was no striking quickly or striking at all. And CLM showed himself to be frozen with indecision and... confusion? Hmm. Saban's prayer answered and the rest is history.

Not to sound harsh, but how much longer can Kragthorpe coach? Parkinsons is an advancing disease and stress is an aggravating factor.
Coaching at LSU is stressful, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go into the Athletic department in some capacity, as sad as his situation is, a coaching staff position is probably not in his or LSU's best interest for that much longer.

Thats the biggest most frustrating fact about this whole situation. Whats with the inaction?? JL did a great job all season. CLM says he was worried about protection and the qb being able to move. There is a answer for that, shotgun, quick timed routes... I had been screaming that for weeks before the game. That is exactly how you combat an aggressive Def. Bama did it to us all night... and JL has the arm to execute that game plan, we know that, we also know JJ doesnt have the ability to do this... Thats where Mett should be able to make the difference going into next season.

We didn't get curb stomped up front! They had 8 men in the box and were playing our rec. one on one with one saftey or no saftey, begging us to throw the ball.We had players open all over the feild. WIDE OPEN!

Monday night was a gamechanger for LSU football offensively. Does that mean cut every offensive player and fire ever offensive coach? Of course not. But, Les really needs to evaluate the offense, from overall philosphy, to preparedness, to actual in game decisions.
Monday night, and I guess the bowl prep time too, CANNOT happen again

Does it escape the minds of some of you that our QB affected what stud and kragthorpe want to do. I am hoping that they wanted MET to sit a year. So that leaves you with Lee and JJ, and lets be real neither one was going to throw for 250-300 yard consistantly. Both off them were very average QB's. Let wait and see what we do with Met before we fire people since we all seem to agree he is far more talented than JJ or Lee

Arm is not the only thing you need! Bama had 8-9 in the box first game as well he didn't do well there. Let's just say we didn't have a QB good enough( that had a chance of playing Met i think will be great but coaches wanted him to sit and learn a year under Krags)to beat a D like bama's
