Dear Jarrett,

Thank you for coming to LSU and putting your heart and soul into the team, busting your butt in practice, preparing each week as if you were going to have an opportunity to play and contribute, overcoming adversity and maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude even when your coaches seemed to ignore the fact that you have proven over and over that:

1. You are better than Jordan Jefferson.
2. You make better decisions.
3. You are a much better passer.
4. While "the feet" of Jefferson apparently meant everything to the coaches, you in fact also have feet and can move in the pocket to avoid the rush at times, like last year when you stepped up into the pocket against Alabama on 3rd and 13 to complete a pass to Rueben Randle for 55 yards which sewed up the victory late in the game.
5. The offense plays better and more in rhythm when you are behind the center, less offsides penalties, better blocking, better route running by the receivers, more consistency, and way more sustained drives for scores!!!

Yes, you have had a tendency to throw off your back foot under pressure on occasion. And yes, you have a tendency to throw balls into coverage when in the face of a strong pass rush. However, overall your QB rating is off the charts compared to Jefferson. He has never shown consistency as a top flight QB. He has had some excellent games, like the bowl game against Ga Tech three years ago, the game against Ole Miss last year, the second half against Bama and the Cotton Bowl last year. But otherwise he has been sub-par.

My apologies that the coaches neglected the fact that you led LSU to come back victories last year against Tennessee and Florida and saved the victory over Bama.

My apologies that the coaches forgot that you were the QB on a smooth running offense for the first 7 games of this year and had no bad games nor many bad plays.

My apologies that the coaches had not enough respect for what you meant to the team to give you some decent playing time in spite of blunder after blunder by Jordan Jefferson.

My apologies that you were essentially banned from the field because you threw two interceptions in the Bama game even though Jefferson essentially created turnover after turnover by dropping snaps and making poor decisions in almost every game since he returned to the starting lineup.

My apologies that, when it was obvious that LSU would not win the NC, you were not even given a chance to change the pace. Maybe the coaches were afraid that you would come in and shine and make them look foolish. I know that LSU was apparently not prepared to take on Bama in this NC. I know the pass rush would have been difficult for you as it was for Jefferson, but I certainly feel that it couldn't have been any worse than what was happening. Miles said it would not have been fair to you to put you in the face of Bama's pressure. He felt that Jefferson's feet gave LSU a better chance. Did he not watch the game?!!! That was the worst game by a QB that I have seen in college football history!

Jarrett, I wish you all the best. I will miss you and the attitude you brought to the team. I am sorry I didn't get to see you play more. I think you might have made a difference.

Sincerely,

LSU Fan

Dear LSU fans,

I apologize for implementing the term "pick six" in to common everyday usage.

It's a shame, it really is... Lee led a dynamic scoring offense that actually had an identity through the first 7 games and had a few bad passes in the 8th game and it fricked him. You know this is what Miles was waiting for to get his adopted son back in the starting role and it caught up to him in the long run.

The most telling part of all of this is to hear the Shea Dixon article where Rueben Randle, OBJ & Will Blackwell all questioned why he wasn't given his chance, even though he was gameplanned in practice to serve a roll.

Where you watch that depressing game last night? I was at Mason Inn. Most of the Bama fans were pretty civil.

Could,'t have made a more fool out of yourself for writing a letter like that. JL must be grateful for being on scholarship for 5 yeas and not delivering much. Actually, he ruined 2 seasons at LSU with his pick-sixes.

was supposed to watch it at P Brennan's for a bday/viewing party, but apparently they were having issues with direct tv because of the snow. So we relocated to a friend's apartment. Basically 2 LSU fans, and 10 other friends with little interest in the game

It wasn't a whole lot of fun

really ??

man you must be blind.? naw.. it is just your agenda..we all know it..
but in case you care, which I know you do not.

* he was thrown into a non-requested situation due to RPs departure...and let's not forget how many of the Pick 6s should have been interceptions, but not Pick 6s..but the other players quit on the play.

what 2nd year did he screw up ?
and of course you forgot that he saved LSUs arse when the bonehead JJ did his thing this year.

He struggled mightily when he got his chance vs. LA Tech 09 and McNeese 10 and even a few other cupcakes.
