13. Frank Gore 100.2 ypg - 10,022 in 100
Maurice Jones-Drew is approaching this list (9,327 in 93 games for a 100.3 ypg average).
Other active players over 100 ypg average:
Chris Johnson 112.2 in 63 games
Adrian Peterson 110.4 in 73 games
Ray Rice 108.4 in 61 games
Matt Forte 103.6 in 60 games

I'm more impressed with the guys who got their 10k yards before 100 game.

Tony Dorsett didn't do that?

I goofed up the thread title at first. The list is only guys with 100 or more ypg.
Dorsett had 16,293 in 173 games for 94.2 ypg

If you go by ypg, where would Jerry Rice rank on that list? Any other WRs that would be in the top 10?
Posted on 1/7/12 at 6:54 pm to TigerintheNO
Jerry Rice averaged 'only' 77.7 ypg but played in 303 games for 23,540 yards from scrimmage (#1 all-time - he had 645 yards rushing).
All the WRs are pretty far down the list - don't know exactly where they would fall.
Marvin Harrison has 76.9 ypg and Randy Moss 74.3 and T.O. 73.9 ypg.

I'd be curious to see where Herschel ranks if you factor in his prime years in the usfl. I think I remember reading once if you combined his all purpose yards (rush, receive, and returns) from both leagues it was like 3500 more yards than Walter Payton. Idk though.

Yeah, Walker had over 8K rushing yards and over 500 receptions and a shitload of return yards

Receivers get a fraction of the touches that running backs do so generally speaking they will have less yards, even if they do average more yards per touches.

Walker should be in the Pro Football HOF

Definitely. I could understand keeping him out if it was just the NFL Hall of Fame, but it's clearly called the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He belongs in it without question.
