Well you must keep up with college football more than me and I've been doing so closely since the mid 80s. I had never heard of him once and wasn't all that thrilled when LSU hired him.
Regardless, I don't think it's debatable that his elite potential was realized only after he came to LSU so yes, I still believe LSU made him. And yes he is the enemy now so frick him.

I think they made each other. Saban could not do it without the elite talent that Louisiana provides, but LSU couldn't get it done for like 45 years and how many coaches since 58.
Pat Forde was once asked about which coach underperformed the most and he said any coach at LSU in the last 30 years. No way LSU shouldn't have been a top 5 program all those years.
Saban came to LSU at the perfect time.
