The football program that we all love is 13-0, defeated every opponent except one by double digits & one of if not the most explosive defenses ever at LSU. Many believe the 2011 Tigers may not only be the best team in LSU history but possibly the best in college football in the past 50 or 60 years!
We have a coach that many bitched about since he has been at LSU that earned coach of the year. A coach that some believe could be courted by J. Jones at the end of the season. You have a coach that has a winning record against coach perfect. A coach that took a lot of chit, for not talking as smooth or slick as some coaches.
A coach that does not humiliate a player in public, therefore it’s assumed he is not a good coach and evidently cannot make good decisions on who is the best option at QB.
Our coach protects his players and yet is mocked because he never admits if they were suspended, or in the doghouse, being punished etc. He was accused of show boating when taking a knee in Oxford, and all the time he is teaching respect, character, and leadership. He does not dignify such comments of show boating with a response. People call him dumb, said he lost control of his team when things seemed bleak. This dumb coach has a team that is currently ranked #1 in all of college football, and his team is the only undefeated team in Division-1.
They can call him dumb or stupid- True LSU fans now call him C.O.Y. After January 9, 2012 the rest of the nation will have to call him coach of the undefeated 2011 national champion L.S.U. Tigers! Nickie can call him Daddy!!!!
With so many things going well for this program, its coaches, team and two weeks from potentially winning the NC & the best that some can do is argue about why a single player is was pulled in favor of another. No player is greater than the team and this team probably understands that better than their fans do.
I don’t give a rat’s butt which number is under center- #9, #12 or #8 as long as we win. I don’t care if it’s a 1-point or 17-point win as long as we are NC and 14-0.
I’ve so enjoyed this season; there will be nothing sweeter than beating the gumps twice, winning the NC, & knowing that LSU will have won 8 of the last 10 games. It’s great to be an LSU fan. Take all the shots you want I don’t care!

We know if JJ were not available the team would not have been undefeated, however, it is not clear if the team would have lost any game if JJ played in all games instead of JL.

I just hate people act like it's a "situation"
It's the back up sitting on the bench. Happens on every football team, all over the country.

he's not... and he fricking bailed on us to go to South Carolina. But I don't see him sniffing jock straps in Columbia
He didn't leave LSU to coach South Carolina, you dumb frick!!!
He went to Army, and back then, that was like coaching at Notre Dame. He went to SC a few years later. His first game he coached with SC was against LSU, a game he scheduled 5 years earlier.

speaking to Paul Dietzel It's college football. It's big boy time. Jefferson gives us a better shot at beating Alabama, as he proved on November 5th. Ever since it has been evident that we would have to face Alabama again, Jefferson has been getting all of the snaps. He needs all the work he can get, considering he missed the first 4 games of the season. I feel for Lee. He's a good kid and he was a huge part of our championship run this season. But at the same time, Miles has to do what he has to do.
It is what it is. Good post

"you can ask him why he left us"
The reason is not that he left for his "dream job" at West Point. There were personal issues he was told to address that he did not. My father, a big booster at the time and knew more than was publicized at the time. I do not want to give the specific reason but would be interested to hear from anyone else on the rant concerning this.

I guess you are referring to the rumors of multiple affairs, especially with a wealthy married wife of a cement manganate. After not cleaning up his act he was more or less forced to leave. Not to get confused with Jim Corbet the AD who had completely different set of problems not the least of which was getting shot exiting a pay by the hour motel on Jefferson Hwy back in the day.

Believe it or not I'm sitting in line at the Hollywood casino buffet talking to Paul Ditzel. While talking about the upcoming game he mentioned how he hasn't liked how the Jarret Lee situation has been handled. Please know that im not trying to flame about the situation either way, I just thought that his insight was interesting.
With all due respect to coach Dietzel, the game has evolved, he is NOT in the coach's circle (while he may get some inside peeks), and he old/senile.
Besides, many consider him a Benedict Arnold......so, consider the source.

....senile.......and, he wouldn't have a 13-0 team. Seriously, if anyone ever speaks with Paul, just appreciate the visit for what it is and not bring up the modern game.

It's crazy that idiotic LSU fans would show so much hate for a man like Dietzel for offering his personal opinions at a random encounter with a fan. Just more proof that the CFB world is a fricked up circus these days.
In any case, there is 0% doubt in my mind that Les Miles acted wrongly over this whole QB controversy. There really is no possible justification for how it played out, and all the word games and leaked rumors just added to the stench of it.
I've always loved Les Miles, and I guess I still do, but he acted like a complete pussy leading up to that Bama game, and we had a horrendous offensive performance as a result. No undefeated season is ever going to remove the stink of that.

On the surface it seems to all that JL got screwed. However not being privy to what is below the surface ie insider day to day coaching evaluations and performance plus off field issues that may come into play, i would have to defer to the coaches and their decision. Miles has always gone out of his way to not damage a player or coach'a image or ego so i see no reason why he would choose to do so to JL. Miles has much more riding on this decision than us rants. Guess we will have to wait for him to write a book to know the logic behind it. anyway beat bama twice and it becomes a moot point.

Many fans feel the same way
Miles at this point should not be questioned however...}
I think you are wrong , and yes I have questioned him . But I was reminded that I am after all just a fan . VIA emails , understand . I took his reply to me as saying he is the coach and me as a fan will win or lose with his call.
This offense with JJ is not very productive the defense has been the spark , and it should be . I love defense, that is what to me makes a great team. Bama and our Tigers are both great teams to put one team down is "Stupid" I agree with Paul Dietzel J Lee should have been the starter , and I think Miles was just looking for an excuse to put JJ in . With one safety JJ cost us two points .To me that is worse than two interceptions and 0 points. That is a break down in the mental game . JJ is a good QB , . Miles and his coaching staff have giving us the team we have wanted for a long long time . A team like i thought we were going to have with Paul Dietzel. A team that we can look into the future with and say , "Wow , we can be here for 4 more years ! " , This is what Coach Miles has done . I can see LSU in the top 5 for 4 to 5 years as the team stands today . JJ and J Lee both have been a part of that .The players that are playing their last game in this the rematch , even if I do not know their names . They will be speical till I die . And JJ and J Lee will be up there with the M&M boys M&M= Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn each of these young men have had a few bumps in the road to get their team to this game . I believe that JJ and J Lee will give us another win in this Rematch Game .In 1959, the Tigers defeated Ole Miss, 7-3, thanks to an 89-yard punt return by Billy Cannon, a play which helped Cannon win the Heisman Trophy. Paul Dietzel was our coach. We lost that rematch game to save the Sugar Bowl. I believe our team will win this Rematch Game to save the BCS . GEAUX TIGERS !!!
I read somewhere that the Dome in New Orleans will be flooded again on Jan 9th 2012 .
With Bama tears !!
GEAUX TIGERS !!!

Can we get a little context here? If I had to guess, I'd wager you brought up the Lee issue...
He would probably say the same thing no matter how he actually feels. He knows that lots of "fans" are butthurt about the Lee issue, and so said the thing that would keep a potential drunken idiot at the casino buffet from whining his ear off.
...Then again, he coached LSU when the team was still segregated, so he might be upset about it for the same reason you are?
