retiring a flag is reserved for the US and Sate flags. No need to do anything special for an LSU fan, just toss it if you don't want it any more. I would put it up in the garage though, but if for some reason you need to do something with it, cermonially burn it or bury it.

This is true, but if your point is an LSU flag means damn near as much to you as the Stars and Stripes then dispose of your banner accordingly.

Cut the "L" "S" and "U" letters from the field and burn the entire lot over a bed of hot coals. Playing the alma mater in the background is not required but would be a very nice touch.
