Hoping you guys could help me out...
I'm wondering where to look for a stud for my yellow lab who should be going into heat in the next couple weeks or so...
She's got excellent papers(not show)and would like to breed her with another Yellow with quality papers as well...
Live in the Slidell Area
Thanks,

Wait about 10 months and you can mate with mine. He is off of doubleplay and covey from bear creek on the bayou kennels.

Well she's 5 now , so I figure her clock is ticking and would like to get a pup from her and started for the next duck season...I'm thinking my son will be hunting in his own blind next season and I'll end up taking the started pup with me...

I've got a year old yellow. Can't say he came from a prestigous puppy factor but I've trained a couple and his bird instincts were unbelievable. Retrieving teal feathers at 6 weeks in the house. He has done well on his few hunts and is pretty pretty dog. I can email you pics.

I got a lab/bloodhound cross that would throw some very good retrieving puppies.
You won't be getting papers on them though

I thought Doubleday was part of the kennel name and not a dog. Mine came out of player and covey. He'a been a great dog so far in the house an the field.

yeah thats true. had it wrong. same parents though.(player x covey). i can't breed him till he's 26 months. i've had a few offers already and i hate to turn them down. mine is hyper as can be. hoping he chills out eventually. but he does great retrieving.

We must have ones from the same litter. Mine is 16 months right now also. He's a male, about 90lbs, hyper also and great at retrieving also. He trained with Steve for 4 months at Bear Creek.
On a side note, why do you need to wait until he is 26 months to breed him?

Jazz' bloodline has a good mix of champions...these are in no particular order as they appear in her papers....
But I'd be willing to exchange pictures of her and scans of pedigrees with anyone interested...
naturally we'd rather breed with a yellow and not breed with the same exact bloodline...another group of champions from the sire would be the best match
San Joaquin Honcho NFC('76)-FC-AFC
Candlewoods MD Houston FC/AFC
Ebonstar LeanMac 2xNAFC 2xCNAFC FC CFC
McCabes Spring Lake "Dude" GRHRCH
Riparian Roughrider FC/AFC
Abe's Ebony and Ivory NFC-FC-AFC
Trumarc's Zip Code NAFC (84)-FC
Itchin' to Go FC-AFC
Jazz' Mother: Sage Gotcha Drinking "Dixie" is also a HRCH

part of the warranty on him. his eyes, hips, and ears are warrantied. it's in the booklet i got from them. steve just did the force fetch for me. i have done everything else. he was born june 16, 2010. must be the same litter. i have his weight kept to around 70lbs. seems to help him better in the marsh.

Pepperidge I must know you as I know everyone that got a pup out of Dixie's litter. Mickey and Karen are m best friends, they train at my place about once a week.
I know of about four dogs that would stud out in the Slidell area from about $500-$1500 depending upon what you want to breed to.
If you are going to breed you need to have blood work done now on the bitch to make sure she is negative for (going to buther the spelling here) bursellosis? a parasite that can be passed during breeding and damage the stud dog. No one will breed without that test done. It will take a few days to get the test results back and will be challenging in the holiday season. Also remember about day 11-12 is the best time.

I can get Dr J to get the results back in a day or so...but most want the k9 brucellosis test done no more than a week or so before hand...
I know most require it, and I'm willing to do what the studs owner requires...
Yep, Mickey is who I got the pup from...I met him through Elmore years ago when Rocky was being bred with my oldest Lab Belle...She lost the litter inside her and we almost lost her too, so when Elmore told us of Dixie being bred with the doc's dog "dude" we asked to be considered for a pup...
