So I got the 2nd pick in the draft in a 12 team league on ESPN. Would it be stupid to take Dwight Howard with the second pick knowing that good centers will be rare in a 12 team league?

consensus top 3 are Lebron, Durant and CP3

Depends on the scoring. If its categories, take Durant, Lebron, or Paul. If its points, ESPN has projections that are specific for your league. I've seen Howard taken number one in total points leagues that award extra for blocks and double doubles.
