1. I sort of agree. But, what's to stop someone who is short and won't get in the endzone from purposely fumbling into the endzone out of bounds to get another chance and set of downs from the 1? Thus, I like the rule as is.
2. Teams would never kick to returners. They would just try to kick it out of bounds inside the 10.
3. Not necessarily. You don't know if the guy could've picked up those yards. What if you have a burner on the outside who beats a bump-n-run coverage and there's no safety deep? Then they grab adn hold him and he would've easily been open for a TD.

No mention of the overtime rules yet? Both NFL and College OT rules SUCK.

starting in what is basically field goal range to begin with?
Both are horrible. Flip a coin and play an extra quarter, or do a regular kickoff and give both teams a possession.
