I didn't read through the entire thread so sorry if someone already pointed this out...but I'm pretty sure you still need a license to hunt your private land in MS. Your name on the title would just be the difference between having to buy a resident vs a non resident license.
ETA: Just looked it up and I stand corrected. However, it does say you have to be a resident. All non resident hunters have to purchase a license.

If you own land in Mississippi then it's a LOT cheaper to transfer your residence there in your name get their plates and hunt for free on the land. Buying a lifetime LA fishing if you want to fish BEFORE you do that though.
