Bama missed two open TD passes, not counting the Maze/INT/Reid. we were lucky. LSU better be able to drive for 80 yards a couple of times, because I expect that TR & co. will do exactly that.

Shepard fell down with nothing but air between him and the goal line. Randle got both hands on a TD pass he would normally haul in. 'Bama got one sniff of the red zone and now you think they'll drive the length of the field multiple times. Amazing! 'Bama was lucky Lee had an off night and the blatant late hit on him was not called. LSU will win going away this time around.

rewatched last night too:

1. LSU defensive line was in backfield 50% of time.

2. LSU legitimately held Bama running in check.

3. AJ looked good at times, but simply not consistent.

4. WHY not run the option at the goal line at end of 1st half? Why run up the gut against that bama D (stacked up the middle)? Makes no sense.

I screamed this at the television that night.
Several missed ops that could have swung our way. I'm hoping that Miles is playing his cards close to the vest and "creating" this QB controversy and openly embracing JJ and shunning JL because he wants to convince Satan to plan for only JJ, then throw JL out there to light it up. Miles isn't stupid, and he is Wiley as hell. The only coach I have ever seen that could snatch a victory from a team after time expired... I don't ever count a Miles team out...

Spencer Ware was in a power formation with 10 seconds left. The ball was flipped to him and he had an option of off tackle and one CB or take the middle and take on 5 DT/OLBs... Really? I saw zero vision from him. You always take off tackle at the four yard line against one CB and a time out left.

Cherry picking a single play is just a poor methodology to evaluate someone. Ware is an excellent back. He is the most complete back we have but is he perfect? No. In some siutations he's better than Ford, Blue, Hilliard. And don't forget he can pass (e.g. Auburn '10).

Jarrett lee is a sad man. He has no confidence in his ability to lead. That freshman year screwed him up because the only other QB I have seen shy way from contact in Tony Romo.

JL has been a great Tiger. As bad as '08 was it would have been a magnitude worse (think losses to Auburn & Troy) without him. Likewise, consider '10 without him. I agree that JL doesn't play as the toughest of QB's but his emotional toughness is without peer.

As to his screwups vs Bama who knows - rattled? confused? But all QB's have lulls. And frequently they recover. Flynn threw ints on three consecutive possessions in the 2nd qtr vs Bama in '07. But he also threw for 353 yds and 3 TDs. E'thing up to that point of the season says those were anomalies and JL would have had some success later on.

Agreed. Think back to the success of RP doing this very thing time and again in '07.

I stopped reading this thread when a poster said he hoped JJ would get more reps so his timing and accuracy are better. Really? He is a fricking senior! He has as many reps as he is gonna get to make him better. It is what it is.

I agree. And I expect Bama's revenge red@ss(even if both teams playing for BCS Title..they're kids after all), to stake them once again to the early lead.

As LSU, in the Bama, Ark, and UGA games, have reverted back to the form of the 2007 LSU team, whom was notorious in falling behind early on weekly.

A repeat of the Bama game where LSU sidestepped big trouble early on, or the Hog & Dawg 1st qtr efforts, may prove deadly on Jan-9th..

Gotta be ready to go from the first whistle!
