Spinning the BCS NCG as good theater

You have good vs. evil. The coach who sings w/ his players after games, vs. the coach that steps over and ignores players lying on the ground in convulsions. The coach who is crazy like a fox, vs. the coach with a handler who can't be spoken to. Bible-thumping zombie-like toothless inbred fans vs. laissez le bon temp roulet fun-lovers; corn meal and grits vs. shrimp remoulade and oysters rockefeller. The rest of the country will be pulling for the good guys; can the Tigers pull off the most magical season in college football history against Darth Saban and his clone army?

Well at least Right and Wrong
I had said in an earlier thread that this game had the potential to move LSU into the same national position of interest that Notre Dame once had and is now vacated.
Almost an "America's Team".

I never thought that I would view LSU football comparatively as sane, but these bama idiots are hard to comprehend. Sure, it hurts to lose a big game when expectations for your team are sky-high, but only bama would deal with that pain by DENYING that it happened. Very mentally unhealthy.
If bama walks out of the dome as national champions, you'll know that the inmates have taken over the asylum.

It's good theater and that is why I no longer like college football.
College football is supposed to be a sport. Sports have a fundamental principle at their core: justice. When college football loses that sense of justice, as it has with the unjust selection of Alabama, it is no longer a sport. As you said, it is now theater.
Theater may be used to make a point. Or it may be used simply to make us laugh or entertain us. And I love good theater, but theater has never been able to set before its audience an even playing field, as sport does. Theater has never been able to be a microcosm for what justice in the world should look like. Sport has, and if sport loses that ability, where will we go to find it?
I am sad at what happened this year in college football. The kingmakers turned what was once a great sport into great theater. We are all poorer for it.

Wow, that IS sad for you. Sorry to hear you feel that way. Some of us think that the 2 best teams in the country are fixing to duke it out to be #1. And I for one love watching this Damn Strong Football Team playing for that chance.
