i know its early but was wondering if anybody sees this guy getting some PT next year. Guy was a high rated DE coming out of high school and I know our D-Line is stacked...just wanting some comments

I was wondering about Allen too recently. Is it a given that he stays at DE? Could he end up on the OL possibly?

I was hoping he would bulk up and play O-tackle,cause I don't see him playing much at DE. With Mingo, Rasco, Edwards, Montgomery, Maclin, we'll have a pretty good rotation going, there. Time will be hard to come by IMO.

Rivals had him at a 5 flat 40. I don't think he'll drop his time down enough in the first year. One of his positive attributes was his big frame with room to grow into a DT. He may start seeing time as a redshirt sophomore. Needs to work on his speed but if he can get strong enough and put on some clean weight he may be a solid DT by then.

Too many good OT prospects on the roster now for him to crack the rotation there as a true project. I'd like to see him bulk up to DT like Brockers. I don't think he has the quickness to play DE in our current system.

Agree. I'd go the bulk route to DT. Chavis seems to favor speed on the ends. The brockers comparison was spot on. I can definitely see him getting bigger/stronger and causing disruption in the inside.

A year or two under moffitt is definitely the best thing for anyone getting to that point.

On another note what happen to Justin Maclin this year seemed like he was on track to see some PT

I watched him in the state championship game against Rummel and wasn't overly impressed. The guy had a pretty good night, but it looked like he was able to get by because of his size, and didn't show anything spectacular.

Yeah idk. Last I heard he put on like 30 lbs and was doing pretty well. We're just pretty stacked on the DL.

I wonder if they might try to put him back at linebacker.

I believe Maclin will be in the four-man rotation at DE next year. JMO he or Rasco will move into Adams spot, with Mingo staying mainly a pass rush specialist.

I've seen out there for a few games in the last minutes. Honestly. I know he's 6'6, but looks like a twig out there. Needs to get some more meat on his bones. His listed at over 260lbs, but it looked like he was skinnier than Mingo. He'll be good once he bulks up some more.
