Rare is it that a hunting show will actually teach you something. Nowadays, they'll just show people on guided massacres.
I also agree that they are hurting the overall image of a sportsman with all of the needless gloating and kill-just-to-kill attitude

This is true, and its unfortunate. It would be nice to have a show that does more than show you gear reviews and a "set up" kill.

I don't understand this type of hunting either. Its one thing to hunt deer or elk so much, that you get to a level where you are looking for a special trophy. Its another to take an inexperienced and unskilled person, thrust them into a situation with an easy kill for a "trophy" that they really can't appreciate.

This is my problem with both hunting and fishing shows.

For a non hunter only 6 years ago, I found hunting shows very informative for about 1 year. Once I knew all of the language, and basic set ups, there was nothing else to learn. Massive infomercials.
