Couple of other points. Nick still bristles at the idea that he left MSU because he didn't want to compete against Michigan and Notre Dame. Yes he said it at the early LSU press conferences but he doesn't like the idea that he ran away because he couldn't compete against Michigan and Notre Dame.

Read his interviews he never talks about LSU and Alabama the way he talks about his time at Michigan State. If Nick could leave MSU he can leave Alabama just as he left LSU when he seemingly had it all.

So you're saying LSU isn't a better job than Michigan State?

Nick's always moved upwards in the college football ranks, and there's zero jobs in college football better than Alabama. Frankly there's only one job I'd be concerned came open and offered him, and that's Notre Dame.

The challenge to return them to prominence might be too much temptation for him.
