I would say expecting to get to the end of the season undefeated in the SEC as a norm would be very rare..
I am happy we have this season, but expecting that to be the case every year is not very reasonable...
It also shows confidence in your team and program when you schedule tough competition early in the year, instead of ducking it. I like it personally.

tell that to Auburn in 2004.

If the SEC is perceived to be down, you will need a strong OOC schedule to separate yourself...I don't know why we haven't figured that out yet.

likely LSU this year, Auburn last year, LSU getting in with one loss caused an uproar, two losses in 07 was unheard of. auburn 04 brought changes. seriously, I try not to say this....but some people don't know what they're talking about and act like experts on the subject

I love it. To go away from home and beat two above average OOC opponents. People want to say, well, AU, UF were down this year...we say ok, we'll just go to a neutral site and beat a preseason top 5, then we'll go on the road to another top 25 team in a hostile environment and beat them. Like someone said in another thread...Leave No Doubt.

Plus, there's a reason why we could lose this weekend and still make the title game. And it isn't because the SEC was lights out this year. It can't be emphasized enough...UNDER THE SYSTEM THAT DETERMINES THE NC, THE SEC WAS NOT THE BEST CONFERENCE THIS YEAR.
