Ware got suspended for Auburn, & Hilliard got a shot. The shot got extended when Blue got nicked on that long run in Oxford.
Both Ware & Hilliard are gifted runners but absorbe punishment via their running styles just as much as they deliver it. Which is to say a lot.
Hilliard has pounced on his opportunities, & presents another between-the-tackle option that gives you more versatile options in playcalling, because he's actually got much better acceleration, and his footwork is amazing. His lateral cuts/"jump cuts" (Ridley was a master of this) are just great.
We're keeping Ware healthy, feeding a young, talented horse, & getting better production out of both of them. Net positive for LSU as a result.
