Alright guys, we have officially started the season!
As far as schedules go:
- There are no week 1 user games, allowing everyone to get used to the sliders.
– Every team has 2 regular season user games
– Everyone's schedule strength is an A- or better.
We will advance to week 2 on Sunday night.
Good luck everyone

The Georgia Bulldogs kick off the 2011 football season the right way with an "upset" over #8 Boise State. Due to some unforeseen stupidity, the virtual game was not played at the Georgia Dome, but rather Between The Hedges in Athens.
Boise State seemed to know EXACTLY what was being called on every single play, as that is just how it is in the virtual world. That did not stop Georgia from showcasing their prized 5 star recruit Isiah Crowell. IC racked up 141 yards on 26 carries.
The defense was great as long as the coach didn't take any breaks and fast forward the game. Once that happened, Boise State always managed to find their way back into the game. The final score was 27-24.
--------------------------------
That was my "write up" with some jabs at how horrible and not fun playing against the computer is. They know EVERY little damn thing that you will do on offense before you even pick your play. Ball is on the left hash and you try to get tricky and run a counter play to the short side of the field? No problem, the CPU will overload that side of the field and force you to run it to the right anyways. Want to throw some passes? No problem, super LB's/DL's are waiting on your pathetic attempt you call a pass.
Also, I must have dropped like 6 interceptions. After the half and 3 dropped INT's, I went in and changed the Pass defense to aggressive and i was still dropping interceptions (both user and Canned CPU animation ones). Not sure if something can be done about that. I know Georgia doesn't have a great offensive line, but what is the slider set for on pass protection? Boise State was getting intense pressure on me while rushing 3 guys.

From your right up it seems like the sliders need adjusting. I haven't played my game yet to experience them for myself.
Operation Sports have some good sliders on there. I suggest the commissioner look on the website and experiment with some of those if he hasn't done so.

That's what I did.
We are on All-American with adjusted sliders. Varsity is too easy and Heisman is borderline Sandusky rapage.
Besides, with everyone only having 2 user games, I think it's better for the cpu to present a challenge rather than being a rent-a-win every time.
I'm sorry, but this is the closest to sim we are going to get.

This, I have a 41-9 record online and the Heisman will rape you, they dont drop picks. Glad we went with All-American. Gonna play Michigan's first game sometime today. UFC and Heisman trophy tonight

South Carolina shot themselves in the foot with 7 penalty's for 70 yards. So many holding calls. ECU got in the red zone one time but put up 31 points they threw deep ball after deep ball. USC's rushing game was weak due to the O-Line. 25 rushes for 65 yards. Passing was huge with over 400 yards and only 1 turnover. Pulled out a win 43-31.

Considering Michigan's awful defense, it should be a shootout in Ann Harbor.

I have it linked a couple of posts up.

Thanks. I'm not sure how everyone else feels about the interceptions (or lack their of), but maybe bumping user picks up to 30 or 35 would help. I don't expect to pick every single pass off, but dropping 6 interceptions is a bit much. Neither team had any turnovers (no fumbles were even forced and the game was played in the rain)
How was the pass protection for everyone?

Lets see how all the other games play out before we make quick changes on a whim.
FWIW, I had 3 picks in my game and had one picked off.

That may need some tweaking after week 1 ends. I had La Tech in my backfield a lot. Lets see how others feel.

ECU was not in the backfield but I could not run the ball but 2 yards every play and every time I had a big run there was a holding call.
25 rushing attempts for 65 yards
7 penalty's for 70 yards
25 rushing attempts for 65 yards
7 penalty's for 70 yards

so do I have to touch the settings at all?

I won a close one vs. Troy. I HATE Clemson's playbook which was part of the reason the score was so close and luck on their part. In any event, at least I won.
Some issues I saw were:
Kicking game (the whole thing is messed up. The accuracy is wayyyyy off. Every time I kick off or punt it veers in a certain direction.

This I had issues with were:
QB Accuracy
My QB was very in accurate in this game. The was plenty of instances where I had a wide open receiver and he didn't throw the ball no where near the receiver. Most of the passing yards I got in this game came off of screens.
Blocking
Most of the time the linemen just let the defense go right pass them without even touching them.
Kicking Accuracy
Kicker was very in accurate in my game. Also it seem like the kicker power can be adjusted as well.
I dropped at least five INTs that hit my DBs right in their hands.
Seems like all of these areas need adjusting. I couldn't do damn near anything on offense b/c all of the above mentioned. My game against Tulsa should've been a blow out but I only beat them 41-34. If Tulsa did a better job on me against the screen pass, I probably would've loss this game.
