Sorry if germans. Didn't see an official thread.
NDA lifted, so any beta testers out there have some insight? How is it??

I think it's OK considered dropping my pre-order, but it is still beta so I will hold on and see what release is like. I have only been in one weekend so far.

To elaborate the game does some great things with questing, ME style with consequences. It just didn't grab me, but no game has since EQ so take it for what it's worth.

Hey you gonna try out guild wars 2?

after last weekend and now this one im very meh on this. i thought Rift was better and i didnt really like Rift as a long term game. it just feels wrong. hard to explain but i can usually get a month out of MMORPG's and im struggling to get through 2 weekends of SWTOR.
it will sell well with the inevitable marketing push but i dont see anything fun in this game. i'll give it one last try with another class but im not expecting much.

just to offer a differing opinion in here. i'll say it all depends on what you like in an MMO. if you like a game that feels a lote like an RPG when ginding to max level, then you'll get some life out of this game. most of the quests have long cut scenes attached that really progress the story. if you watch it all, it will take a LONG time to get to max level, but personally, i love the story. sometimes in WoW leveling up there just isn't enough to suck me into the lore. SWTOR more than covers that.
what i have no experience with yet, and will be the true test of time, is how the max level game goes. in any case, i think it will give me at least 6-12 months of enjoyment just playing through the stories or each race and class.

i'll admit i dont really care for stories so that does skew my feelings on the game

Game takes a little getting used to for me. Every game I play, I like to move by holding down both mouse buttons and steering with the mouse.
Almost impossible to do that in SWTOR. The sensitivity is way too high, even at the lowest setting. Only way to use the mouse like this is to turn the built-in "+ & -" buttons on the mouse, and that's hardly enjoyable.
WASD with Q&E to strafe is the only way to play this game.

I've enjoyed the beta. It has a polished feel to it. I'll play the game after release. Crafting and space will determine whether it holds my interest. Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer
looks like my style.

This was the toon I tried, it got much better when you got the "grenade" skill.

My $0.02, I think there is a polished feel to it, yet it is nothing polished, as well as, all the WoW-killer talk in General Chat will be negated because the game seems to be more story-centric than rush to max level, most mmo'ers have a tenacity to achieve max level and get "phat lewts", in of which I don't think the game will yield early on. But enough of that, My beta experience has been Sith oriented, the galactic quests in space are quite intriguing and fun, like a 3-d Galaga. The Sith story lines seems to be proper, some say they seemed to be too linear, yet I didn't feel that way. PVP feels broken to me, but then again I am a baddie at PVP. In comparison to the first Beta weekend, Bioware has fixed alot of issues noted from that weekend, so I have faith that the bugs this weekend will be addressed.
All in all, I am glad for my Pre-order, and it is well anticipated.
Has there been any talk of a TD SWTOR guild for the Sith faction, I haven't seen anything on it, from my searching?

Yeah, I really enjoyed it and I think I'm gonna enjoy leveling in this game where I absolutely despise it in WoW. The class quest stories are fantastic. Imperial agent was especially fun. Kind of like being a CIA operative, only way more badass.
The whole idea of multiple companions that do all sorts of tasks for you is pretty awesome. Farming crafting mats is boring. I'd much rather be doing something fun than something boring. Having them to take care of the menial tasks frees you up for more fun and less boring. Plus having one around as a "pet" of sorts makes solo play much more rewarding. You can do so much more without being forced to group. Or you can group and still enjoy it of that's what u want to do.
I really hope they do something to make playing on the republic side more entertaining because it looks like its gonna be very Empire heavy as is. Force lightning is way cooler than levitating a rock and tossing it at someone. Bounty hunters are way cooler than storm troopers. That's all gonna have an effect on which faction people choose. Just like how WoW is something like 70% horde because let's face it, it's cool to be the badass looking bad guy.
I didn't try out PVP any because I was trying to get some playing time in on all 4 classes. The Universe is pretty big from what I've been told though. A shite ton of planets plus space stations. Should be LOTS of quests and stories to go through.
I enjoyed it very much and will definitely be playing when it goes live. I hope that the guys that said they weren't impressed early on gave it more time as the beta progressed.

I might be up for that. Looks like I'll play a healer.

Weekend tester for SWTOR here.
The PvP is subject, it is slow pace but will be trying it out when it goes live.
Did you play any leagues in GW or CoX?

I'm going Sith but doing the Buff/Debuff/Healer with great ranged damage.
Sounds like a viable team and solo PvP class.

Gamestop SWTOR Pre-Order
Has anyone found their Pre-Order code on the receipt?
I can't find it anywhere for early access and GameStop is giving multiple answers with no help.

Havent preordered yet. Plan to today though. Have to wait for server maintenance to get done though.

I enjoyed it. Was hard to focus only being able to play in between my son's naps and late at night. It was slow going, but once I got off the startig world, it looked really immerssive. Then I had to stop
I'll be there in two weeks, though.
