New style of coaching...Les Miles

Critics do not phase him, pressure doesn't bother him and the spotlight doesn't frighten him...
During Les Miles' tenure at LSU he has been able to transcend the way traditional football is played. He still utilizes all of the bases: being sound in all three phases of the game, win the turnover battle and to play a complete game for 60 minutes.
However: what separates him is this... He does not
glamorize any position including the quarterback. The term
"starter" only means that you will get the first snap~and that is
all that is guaranteed .... and most importantly, he is willing to
give young and hungry freshman and sophomores the
opportunity to prove their worth at any given time.
The #1 advantage that LSU holds over any school in the nation is our depth. We wear teams down because we can go atleast three deep at every position, and that is simply too much for any opponent to overcome.
Les Miles has created a masterful way to utilize his top players, while keeping them fresh AND utilizing young talent all at the same time. He is called the "Mad Hatter' for a reason, but from here on out... He should be known as "the best coach in college football"!!
12-0 to the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP WE GO!!!

Damn right... While other teams have "collections" of good players, LSU has a TEAM of collectively GREAT players

Les has also pioneered the new standard in sportsmanship.... you take a knee with five minutes to go. If you don't, you're a motherfricker. Ironically, he was the first proclaimed MF violator of his new standard.

I like the fact he sees who is best against a type of offense or defense. He doesn't discriminate age regardless of offense or defense. He plays the best matchup! He trusts his coaches and players! Geaux Tigers

I think he also is finally running the team exactly how he wants to. No differing offensive theories as with Crowton. Hard nosed, in your face, run it down your throat football with some nasty defense.
He is basically playing old school Michigan football, LSU style

But, most importantly, he's OUR coach.

Do you want to win the heisman, or win multiple championships?

Damn solid post.
Also, the Michigan philosophy can work beautifully in the SEC, if you have the athletes to do it.
LSU has them - 3 deep, at just about every position.
Domination.

Any undefeated coach looks good.
People were all over Chizik's nutts last season, and now he looks mediocre. The second LSU loses its next game, be it this season, next season, or in 2013, Les' image will take a hit, rightly or wrongly.
Just a couple seasons ago much of your fanbase was calling for his head. He's the same guy he was then, difference is he's undefeated at the moment.

That's the butthurt talking.
I'd be willing to bet almost anything Miles will be at LSU long after the "Chiz" is gone from Auburn.
In case you haven't noticed, Miles' record is out of this world good. Plus he's won a few pieces of hardware to back it up.
Your insinuation that Miles is a flash in the pan may have been valid in 2007. FYI - it's 2011 and LSU looks as good as it's ever been in school history.

Ask any pole in America who are the top 5 coaches in NCAA football and I promise you, every one of them will have "The Hat" eating grass and kickin arse!

Ham you're right, difference now is Les has a QB coach and a very good offensive coordinator. Les' problem is that he can't fire anyone it seems. He will still be appreciated after his next loss....unless it's to Arky. At least I don't mind losing to a very good team like Bama this year.
