What about the rule that no more than two teams from a conference

What about the rule that no more than two teams from a conference can go to a BCS bowl? I have heard of this rule but I don't pretend to know the particulars. Is there a loophole to this? Could this mean that the BCS#3 (if from the SEC) would not be eligable for a BCS bowl? For example if LSU VS. BAMA is the NC game, would that mean there is no SEC team in the Sugar Bowl?

The only way a conference can get 3 teams into the BCS is if #1 and #2 are not champions of that conference. Then the conference champ gets a bid with the first two going to the ship.

That is correct unless the SEC #3 team was SEC champ and then 3 teams could get in.
Lets say Arky beat LSU and then lost UGA in teh SECCG. UGA would be SEC Champ and LSU/Bama could potentially play in the NC game.

This looks very easy to have happen now too. If Arky beats LSU and then SECW team that goes to the SECCG loses, UGA to Sugar and the 2 teams that didn't go are in the BCSNCG.
Okie St or VT could sneak in, but...

So what about the rule, you have to win your conference to play in the BCSNCG? I think if they skip this they need to let go of these crazy contract tie-ins and all the other crap rules.

This rule doesn't exist.

There is no such rule. When you hear that, you are hearing talking heads trying to differentiate the contenders.

Oh damn, I thought there was a rule. Guess we will get to whip the Gumps twice in one year.
