I'm really sick of starting three defensive midfielders every match.

It's certainly a novel approach to open, possession based, attacking football.

IHowever, if there's to be any revolution of style like many people seem to have wanted it's going to take a long time.

We needed to hire someone like Marcello Lippi if what we wanted were immediate good results against more talented sides.

We'd have better results if our current coach would just play our best 11.

Not exactly his fault on the best XI part.

I just get the feeling that Jurgen is in over his head sometimes.

Still haven't played a game that matters. I'll reserve judgement until then.

Certainly, this.

However, I don't like what I see, especially as it relates to not playing Bradley, who is markedly superior to one player (Beckerman), and arguably superior to two others (Williams and Edu), all of whom are playing most of the minutes in most of the games.

I'm also not seeing much in the way of an in-game adjustment.

Dropping points to any of our first round qualifying opponents, and the sirens will go off.

Who should we play? Holden = Out. Torres = Out. Donovan and Dempsey haven't been on the same pitch at the same time since Klinsmann has gotten here.

I mean I don't mind testing some of these players out. Fabian and Danny = early 20s, with significant PT. The only weird call ups for me is just Beckerman (who is a great role player in CONCACAF), Rogers (but hey, he has scored a goal during Klinsmann's tenure), Fiscal (i have no idea whats up with that one)

I'm not convinced that Torres is "best 11" and Holden hasn't been healthy since early 2010, and won't be until next summer (at best), so it's really hard to pencil him in right now.

I still think he could have done MUCH more with the players he has in camp.

Was there any reason Danny Williams is being shoe-horned into an un-natural position?

Is there any reason that Shea couldn't play down one side, Beasley down the other and just fire crosses into Dempsey and Altidore? At least you're creating some kind of chances....

(Other than the obvious reason.... if you think Beckerman and Edu got caught out a little on Friday.... imagine if there was no support from the outside....)

Either way, Klinsmann is not instilling confidence right now.

Perhaps all this bizarre game management is Vazquez's doing?

I can't believe he needs THIS much time evaluating Beckerman.

I saw everything I needed to see when I saw him turn the ball over in midfield, recognize the run late, grasp at the guy as he ran by, then fail to mark anyone as the play developed in the 18.

Beckerman is easily identifiable as "not international quality."

How long did it take everyone to figure it out with Wondolowski? Thirty minutes in the Gold Cup?

No, I don't think so. You're the second or third person who I have seen that has said this. You know what you have in Edu/Boca/Dempsey/Donovan/Dolo/Howard/Altidore and the other veterans on the team. Why would you not play Bradley ? Defense liability maybe ?

He has scored in some of our biggest games including Gold Cup Final AND World Cup. No other midfielder can say that except Dempsey.

I was referring to lack of depth more than anything. We aren't very deep at all. I think the younger generation will be but there is a pretty huge gap between up and coming players and Donovan's generation. IMO.

AND he's 24, so he's got another 7 or 8 years of top-flight football ahead of him.

There's really no excuse for not playing Bradley. It's not playing time or form, because he's playing 90 for a mid-table team in Serie A.

It's not ability, because there is NOTHING that Beckerman does that you can definitively say he does better than Bradley. You can almost say the same for Edu/Bradley, though I think Maurice may be a little better in the tackle.

Which leaves us with "Klinsmann waving his dick around" because his ego can't handle having the previous coach's son be a star...

OR

...Michael isn't doing the work in practice.

Given what we (supposedly) know about Klinsmann's ego, and Bradley's work ethic, I'll leave that to you to decide.
