I know Mettenberger is the go to QB next year however do you guys see Miles and continuing with the two QB rotation with Met and Randall akin to Lee and Jefferson this year? It seems (based on Lee and Jefferson's performances) that having both a pro-style QB and a dual threat QB in some sort of rotation is advantageous in SEC play.

I don't know anything about Randall...does he have more upside potential than Jefferson? Is he more like a Pat White talent?

It wouldn't surprise me.

He really seems to like the dual threats that each QB would bring in different situations.

Hard to tell...I have watched lots of film on RS out of high school. Not sure he is at the same level in jukeness but waaaaayyyyy better passer. Just think if RS was a good passer.

I think it depends on how Mett does. If the offense moves well with Mett at QB, I don't think you see Randall. If it bogs down here and there like it has with JJ and Lee at the controls the last 2 years, then yes, you will see him. I think Miles would prefer to play only 1 QB, but won't hesitate to play 2 if needed.

Great question, will be interesting to watch... I guess it depends on how much faith he has in Randall - if Randall develops, I can easily see the offense being very similar...

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about.

I think randall plays, its just a question of how much. its not just the 2 qb system, but what if a guy gets injured (like tenn. or flor. this year) and team is in the middle of NC run. you need a backup if possible.

I really think that we will see 2 for a couple of reasons. Not only does it make it tougher to gameplan against 2 QB's but Miles also knows that at some point you are going to need that 2nd QB either due to the starter going down and missing a game or two or the starter being ineffective one game and needing the other guy to come in and provide the spark. Really feel that it is extremely beneficial to have 2 QB's that get regular in game action if you can continue to rotate successfully and keep everyone team oriented at the same time.

RS was as good a passer as randall in his youtube highschool highlights. too bad they don't count.

RS asked to move to wr.

i would perfer one. but it's winning. so as long as it wins, it's good with me. it may be miles claim to fame. career of 2 qb system?

Because he's a frickING WIDE RECEIVER!!!

But I'd be really suprised if we don't use a 2-QB system next year. But I think it will be closer to the Flynn/Perrilloux than Lee/Jefferson. About 90/10.

agree to disagree, Randall looked like more of a natural QB to me, both from the shotgun spread and from under center. plus he's being groomed by Kragz from jump. I like his chances at being a good one down the line.

I think it depends on what kind of quality we have on the offensive line. In all honesty, I think that pass protection this year has been mediocre (and I'm talking Lee here--NFL OLs couldn't give JJ the time he seems to need to get off a pass) and run blocking has been less than stellar (though I will admit that this observation may be affected by having rewatched the Oregon game the other day and feeling unimpressed with the run blocking). But it was the first game of the season.

Well, we all have seen a little of what Mett is capable of... and we all agree looks very promising... with his arm, and our running game... its looks to be a step up from this year,(as crazy as that sounds), BUT... we also know CLM is not scared to run two QB's... I guess it depends on how Randall does in Spring and Fall, as well as Mett... Personally, I am looking for Mett to be spectacular,

He was highly recruited. He has been a pleasant surprise on the scout team. Miles went out of the way to mention him early, vis-a-vis the preparation he gave the team for the mobile QBs we faced early.

A true dual-threat, he is a better running threat than Jefferson is right now. The only knock on him coming out of high school was accuracy and decision-making (sound familiar) - hopefully he is getting better fundamental coaching (or taking to it, depending on to whom you listen) than Jefferson did his first few years

i think u will definitely see Randall next year run the wild tiger offense, if only for maybe one or two possessions a game but i think u will definitely see it (if Mett lives up to the hype). the wild cat offense has proven to be too effective in college football not to have that package... imagine if Saban had a guy that was an actual QB to bring into the game to run the wild cat instead of Maze? could have been the difference in the game
