Les says he thinks the ball did hit the wire. He also says according to the head of SEC Officials "do-overs" are not allowed even if the wire interferes.

Jesus, people, this isn't hard to figure out.

These wires are for suspending CAMERAS. If one of the wires suspending a CAMERA was hit, the CAMERA would shake. CBS has reported that they looked at the shot through the suspended CAMERA during the kick and the CAMERA didn't move.

That's known as VIDEO EVIDENCE that the wire suspending the CAMERA was NOT hit during the play.

Maze couldn't handle the kick and he doesn't want to admit it. He shouldn't have been back there to field it due to his injury, thus we see another one of Saban's coaching blunders.

Maze was probably set up by the 22 yard shank, and didn't realize that Wing could boom one over his head. He was embarrassed and trying to deflect blame.

ETA:

P.J. Bennett of Action Cam, the operators of the CBS suspended camera, said the ball never made contact with the wire.

"We checked in the truck," said P.J. Bennett of Action Cam. "We looked at all different angles. It did not hit the line.

"As a matter of fact, we saw the shot through our camera. And through our lens, if it would have hit the line, it would have giggled
[sic - I giggled] the camera. Saw nothing. So there's no evidence."
