I just don't see how the winner of the game Saturday would be effectively punished for winning by having to play another game (SEC Championship) against another quality opponent while the loser would just get to win three games to get a rematch. It's one thing if it was a three point LSU win in Baton Rouge, but for Alabama to lose at home and then get a easier road just seem unfair.
Agreed . . . but "fair" ain't got nothing to do with it. Look at all the media hype for the two weeks prior to the game Saturday and just imagine what they would do with a month to promote the game. The network and the media will keep pumping the idea and hope some other teams lose to make it happen.

I still don't see why Alabama gets a rematch while Oregon is left out while winning their conference. Just a thought.
Plus Oregon was basically on the road... Bama lost at home.

However it happens, we need to make it to the SECCG. We might need it.

Am I really the first to notice this gem...
If anything, the opposite is true. Oregon was in that game for the first half, then we mopped the floors with them. Plus they got a garbage time TD, so was it closer than the score?

Both lost to #1, except Oregon was way earlier. The game was closer than the score ( I know its coming lol)

Bama will slip because of remaining strength of schedule and Oregon, Ok St, OK , Stanford remaining schedule. Bama has only Auburn which may not be ranked and no conference championship game. That dead week will push them to #4 or #5. Only scenario if LSU loses to Arky and Stanford, Ok St lose. Bama is on the outside looking in at this time. Boise State will have the same problem.

I will puke on my shoes if those gumps get a rematch. All the reasons that they shouldn't, other than the fact that their players came out directly after a loss and said that they were superior, have already been expressed.

He's wrong often. He's a Bama graduate.
Assuming OK St. loses to OU and Stanford loses to Oregon the following match ups would all make more sense than a rematch between LSU and Alabama.
LSU vs OU - OU would have beaten #2 OK St. at the end of the year.
LSU vs Boise St- It might just come down to voters saying " We already know LSU is better than Bama, because THEY BEAT THEM ALREADY AT THEIR PLACE. Let's give Boise a shot."
LSU vs Oregon- If they beat Stanford and win their conference championship they will have:
1. lost to the same team Bama lost to but earlier in the year
2. lost to the same team Bama lost to but at a neutral site
3. actually beat another top 5 BCS team
4. played in a conference championship game
5.won their conference
Logically this would all of the above would trump Bama one would think.
Bama sitting at home on their asses and not having to play in a conference championship, Penn State losing some games, and Arky getting bumped out of the top 10 in the BCS should also not help their case.

It is because THEY are the GREAT Crimson Tide!! Don't you know they are STILL the BEST college football team in the country!! Just ask any of their team...........

Kirk Herbstreit pretty much summed it up yest when he said the final determination of #1 and #2 on final poll will come down to WHO the pollsters want to see play in the NCG. If the pollsters want a rematch between an unbeaten LSU and once beaten AL, that's how they'll vote. If they want to see "something different" such as unbeaten LSU and BSU, that's what they'll do (assuming once beaten OSU, AL and Stanford). The pollsters have the capability to manipulate the final poll to accomplish who they want to see play in the NCG, not necessarily who they think are the two best teams in college football.

Oh I agree. There is no way a team should be able to win a National Championship without winning their conference or even division. The whole scenario is ludicrous to me.
As unlikely as it sounds if Arkansas beats LSU and goes to the SEC Champ game remember you said this.
