I think Auburn is gonna have to let go of the Tiger mascot and just stick with plain old War Eagles

Auburn's mascot: a bird named "Tiger"
LSU's mascot: a real fricking tiger that could eat you
...And you think LSU is the "feaux tigers"?

You are fricking stupid.

Okay...
Care to explain yourself?
Edit: and for clarification, I don't really give a shite about how many Tiger teams are in the SEC, but I do think it's funny to hear a fan of a team whose "Tiger" mascot is actually a bird refer to another team that has an ACTUAL tiger for a mascot as the "feaux tigers". It's a lame attempt at an insult in the first place and it only gets dumber the more you look at it.

You may want to check out the Capital One challenge and the Mascot Hall of Fame - Auburn's mascot is a tiger named Aubie.
The Auburn vet school has a golden eagle named Tiger that used to be on the sideline at games and flew beforehand, but she was never the school mascot.

That same challenge lists "Mike the Tiger" (the one that is a person in costume) as the mascot for LSU, rather than the Mike VI (the one that is a real live Tiger) which is the official mascot of LSU.

Now we're getting into semantics. Officially "Tiger" the eagle is not the named mascot of Auburn University, but as far as a live animal mascot, she's the closest y'all have. Fair enough though--your mascot is indeed not a bird named "Tiger", it is a human being in a tiger costume. This makes the "feaux Tiger" comment even dumber.
And what's this about "used to be on the sideline at games and flew beforehand"? When did this stop? I thought I saw a video from this season of the bird flying into the press box glass--was that from a previous season or are you just referring to something that stopped a few weeks ago in a way that sounds like its a tradition from a bygone era?

The eagle - or the golden eagle in particular - is an embodiment of the War Eagle battle cry.

Good info. Thanks for sharing.
Have there been multiple eagles with the name Tiger? What about Spirit or Nova? When any of them kicks the bucket (I'm guessing Tiger is getting up there in age since she's not flying anymore) will there be a new eagle bought and named "Tiger" or "Spirit" or "Nova"?
